Our Classes

Thank you for your interest in our classes!

As a family in one of our classes, you and your child will have the opportunity to play musically each week under the guidance of one of our early childhood music specialists. During class, you will sing and move to songs and rhythmic rhymes in a variety of meters and tonalities by participating in activities that include small and large movement, instrument play-alongs and community singing. These fun activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers to participate in regardless of their own musical ability! In addition to the fun you will have in class, you will receive professionally recorded CD and a beautifully-illustrated songbook so you can continue the music-making fun at home. You can also learn more about the Music Together® Program and Curriculum, by visiting the Our Story section of our website.

Have questions about meetings dates and times? You are always welcome to contact us!

We look forward to singing and dancing with you soon!

Mixed Ages

The Essential Music Together Class

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through kindergarten—and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones, and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own developmental level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing, or exploring musical instruments.

We welcome the whole family to join in this important family music experience and any caregiver—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the child(ren) to class.

Mixed Ages with Spanish

MUSIC TOGETHER WITH SPANISH

“Learn a New Language and get a New Soul” (Czech Proverb). It is never too early to start learning a new language. Studies show that the cognitive benefits of learning and speaking a new language are innumerable. So, since music is one Universal Language, let’s sing and dance with Spanish!

During class, we will sing the songs in English followed by introducing Spanish words at an amount that is comfortable for the participants. You will receive a handout to familiarize yourself and practice at home. We will repeat these words and sentences in class progressively and learn the name of the instruments we use in Spanish, how to count, how to greet people, the name of the colors, some animals, etc.  Take advantage of the unique cognitive abilities your young child has and boost their brain with both Music and Spanish.
